The Fender Custom Shop 1963 Jaguar Journeyman Relic brings you a flawless rendition of a revolutionary solidbody electric guitar that rocked the music world. Introduced in ’62, the Jag boasted a slew of features that represented a radical departure for Fender. First off, it sported a shorter 24-inch scale length, which gave it a slinky handfeel that facilitated string bending. Its offset-waist body not only looked rad; it was comfortable and balanced whether you were playing standing or seated. The electronics package was quite different, too; with a pair of hot, shielded single-coil pickups a novel switching arrangement that gave the instrument massive tonal flexibility. Even its vibrato setup was unique, with an adjustable bridge featuring a defeatable string mute and a separate “floating” vibrato tailpiece. Meticulously handcrafted in the USA by Fender’s elite Custom Shop luthiers, the 1963 Jaguar Journeyman Relic gives you a stunning re-creation of this gem from Fender’s golden era, complete with jaw-dropping visuals, off-the-charts playability, and eat-it-with-a-spoon tone.

Equipped with the coveted features that defined the decade, including the neck profile and feel, along with the pickups, the guitar has all the sound and articulation that made the Jaguar a legend. For the authentic Fender, vintage-style sound, we've reproduced the pair of Jaguar single-coil pickups so they behave more like the originals, of course with the metal backing. The warm, smooth-sounding neck pickup is balanced by the sharper, more aggressive bridge pickup. The "Mid '60s C"-shaped neck has a 7.25"-radius maple fingerboard with 22 vintage-style frets for a classic feel. For authentic, vintage-style tone we recreated the pair of single-coil Jaguar pickups to sound and feel more like the originals—keeping the focusing cages, of course. The chiming neck pickup is tempered by the bright, aggressive bridge pickup. The “Mid 60s C”-shaped neck has a 7.25”-radius fingerboard with 22 vintage-style frets for classic playing feel. Vintage-style Jaguar bridge, tremolo and tuning machines provide original-era aesthetics, rock-solid performance and tuning stability. Other features include the classic lead/rhythm circuit, chrome hardware and 4-bolt neck plate. Includes a deluxe gig bag.
