Product Description

The ES-335 model is one of the most recognisable in Gibson’s iconic instrument range. Considered by many as the quintessential semi-hollow guitar, this particular model is adorned with a stunning Figured maple top for that premium look. Typically, the ES-335 appeals to traditional players, but with its modern appointments; we think the USA ES-335 Figured will be seen in the hands of many current musicians too.

Construction

The ES-335 is regarded for its elegant semi-hollow body, which allows you to achieve bright and open sounds with plenty of natural acoustic-like volume. Formed from a 3-ply AAA figured maple/poplar combination, these tonewoods give this guitar plenty of vibrancy and top-end definition.

To add some warmth, the ES-335's body is paired with a quarter sawn mahogany neck; topped with a rosewood fingerboard for a silky feel under the fingers. The neck has a comfortable rounded “C” profile, feeling substantial in the hands without being too chunky or cumbersome. The ES-335 Figured's rolled binding also offers a smoother feel, with a sleek transition between the side of the neck and the fretboard.

Electronics & Hardware

A double-dose of medium-output T-Type humbucking pickups give this instrument a rounded, warm tone. More responsive to your playing dynamics, these pickups lend themselves to expressive players. Although semi-hollow guitars are more synonymous with clean jazz players, with distortion these humbuckers can sound fairly raunchy and bold; meaning they're not just one trick ponies by any means.

The Gibson USA ES-335 Figured comes installed with an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, providing a stable and solid feel under the picking hand. With its simple and accessible design making it easy to adjust your action and intonation, you can easily manipulate your setup on-the-fly. Fitted with Titanium saddles, these offer better sustain, intonation and longevity.

BurstBucker™ 61R & 61T zebra, open-coil pickups provide classic Gibson tones from the era with a bit of extra punch thanks to the open coils. The control assembly features 4 push-pull pots which provide choices of coil tapping, phase switching, and pure bypassing for functional and versatile sonic variety.

Era Accurate Construction

This excellent guitar represents the culmination of decades of work but the expert team over at Gibson's Custom Shop, and is widely regarded as the best representation of the 59 Les Paul Standard ever since they began creating reissues more than 25 years ago.

Featuring a solid Mahogany body, capped with a 2-piece Figured Maple top, and a set-in Mahogany neck - all of which is fixed together with genuine hide glue for maximum tone transferrence.

The neck has been carved with an Authentic '59 Medium C-Shape profile, and is topped with a bound Indian Rosewood fingerboard, with 22 Historic Medium-Jumbo frets, and Trapezoid fret markers, for an authentic late 1950s playing experience.

Custombucker Pickups

As this guitar represents the birth of a legend - the very first Les Paul to come equipped with humbuckers - Gibson have opted to use the vintage-voiced CustomBucker.

These low-output pickups come equipped with Alnico III magnets, and produce the Holy Grail of Gibson tones, with a PAF-like voice that's both rich and articulate.

Each of these pickups features independent Volume and Tone controls, allowing you to dial in those sweet spots, whilst the 3-way selector switch lets you choose the perfect voice for your situation.

The Murphy Lab Collection

Gibson's all-new Murphy Lab Collection is a showcase of premium-quality guitars, that feature Ultra Light Aged finish treatments, with lightly aged hardware.

The new Les Paul Standard returns to the classic design that made it famous. It pays tribute to Gibson's Golden Era of innovation and brings authenticity back to life. The Les Paul Standard '50s P-90 has a solid mahogany body with maple top and a rounded 50's-style mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard and trapezoid inlays. It's equipped with an ABR-1, the classic-style Tune-O-Matic bridge, aluminum stop bar tailpiece, vintage deluxe tuners with keystone buttons, and aged gold top hat knobs. The classic P-90 pickups (neck and bridge) are loaded with AlNiCo V magnets, audio taper potentiometers and orange drop capacitors.
