MANLAY SOUND "Ronno Bender" (SOLD)

The Ronno Bender is a fine replica of the legendary Sola Sound Tone Bender MK1. The MK1 was used by Jeff Beck in the “Yardbirds” era, as well as Pete Townshend of “The Who”, “The Pretty Things”, ”Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich”, “The Merseybeats”, etc.. back in the sixties. But the most notable and dedicated user of the MK1 and with greater effect was Mick Ronson in the good old days of “The Spiders from Mars” with David Bowie.

The Ronno Bender is a germanium transistors based device that produces a compressed and warm distortion. The classic fuzz-tone sounds of the sixties and seventies can be achieved with this unit.

Some of its most remarkable sound characteristics are:
-It produces a thick and long sustain, specially with double coil pickup equipped guitars.
-It is unique in getting an extremely overdriven tone without sacrificing the clarity of the individual notes, even in harmonically  complex chords.
-It retains the sonic characteristics of the guitar even when adjusted for maximum distortion (full attack).
-Unlike other fuzz-boxes, it works extremely well when hooked next to “wah wah” pedals.

MANLAY SOUND "Super-Bender"

The Super Bender is the third addition to the Manlay Sound line up. We simply called it “Super Bender” in honor to the Sola Sound “Tone Bender MKII Professional” and the Marshall “Supa Fuzz” of the late sixties. Both models shared the same circuit. Supposedly, the MKII was the fuzz pedal that Jimmy Page used on the first couple of Led Zeppelin albums. Without a doubt, it’s one of the greatest fuzz pedals of all time. The “Super Bender” recreates the same MKII circuit. In its guts there are three germanium transistors which are hand selected and tested for optimum sound. The sustain is endless and the tone is awesome. Lots of shades of distortions can be achieved with the Super Bender: from almost clean to pure brutality, just at the touch of the volume of your guitar or the “attack” control.

You can also choose between two different external graphics:

-Standard: plain Super-Bender logo (see pictures)

-Zoso graphics: this is ideal for Led Zeppelin fans. It features the Jimmy Page symbol (see pictures)

MANLAY SOUND "The Sound" (SOLD)

By the mid sixties Pete Townshend was using the first Marshall amps just like other English musicians like Eric Clapton or Peter Green. Marshalls were originally based on the Fender Bassman amps. When pushed to overdrive these amps delivered THE SOUND that would define rock music for decades. By the late sixties and seventies every hard-rocker had a Marshall amp roaring at his back: Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Cream, Free, AC-DC, Deep Purple...
“The Sound” successfully emulates the sound of those over-driven amps thanks to its FET transistors whose distortion properties and harmonic content are very similar to a full tilt Marshall. “The Sound” is also very responsive to the pick attack and will clean up amazingly, for this reason many players will prefer to leave the pedal on the whole time. It's one of the world's best overdrive pedals.
