The BIGSBY Pedal is a revolutionary polyphonic pitch shifter pedal that reproduces the string bending and vibrato effects produced by the BIGSBY Tremolo arm and other traditional tremolo systems.

The idea to create a BIGSBY-style pitch-shifting pedal was born out of a long-standing admiration for the BIGSBY system’s unique feel, sound and design.

Now, after a two-year-long design and development period, we are proud to unveil what we believe is one of the most capable and inspiring pitch-shifting tools currently on the market.

LIGHT PEDAL IS THE WORLD’S FIRST ANALOG OPTICAL SPRING REVERB SYSTEM THAT USES INFRA-RED OPTICAL SENSORS TO HARVEST THE FULL TIMBRAL AND HARMONIC RANGE OF A SPRING REVERB TANK.

 

IT TAKES A LOT OF ENERGY TO TRANSFER AN AUDIO SIGNAL ACROSS THE LENGTH OF A VIBRATING SPRING. BY THE TIME THE SOURCE AUDIO SIGNAL REACHES THE SPRING TANK’S OUTPUT TRANSDUCER, MOST OF ITS NUANCED HARMONIC CONTENT WILL BE LOST CONVERTED INTO MECHANICAL ENERGY.

 

THIS IS WHY SPRING REVERBS HAVE SUCH A PARTICULAR SOUND, SINCE WHAT YOU END UP HEARING IS LARGELY THE SPRING’S OWN RESONANT FREQUENCIES. THE LIGHT PEDAL USES EXTREMELY SENSITIVE OPTICAL PAIRS, PLACED AT SPECIFIC REGIONS OF THE SPRING TO DETECT VERY NUANCED MOVEMENTS ON THE SPRING’S SURFACE, AS SOUND-WAVES TRAVEL THROUGH IT.

 

THIS METHOD OPENS UP A MUCH WIDER RANGE OF FREQUENCIES, HARMONICS, OVERTONES AND TEXTURES THAT ARE OTHERWISE LOST IN THE MECHANICAL REVERBERATION PROCESS. USING OPTICAL SENSORS ALSO OPENS DOORS TO SOME NEW EFFECTS TYPES, SUCH AS OPTICAL REVERB TREMOLO, OPTICAL REVERB MODULATION AND OPTICAL HARMONIC SHIMMER.

REAL-TIME AUDIO SAMPLING

is a unique audio algorithm developed by GAMECHANGER AUDIO that lets you capture and sample tiny bits of your instrument’s signal in real time and loop them into a seamless, warm and responsive sustained tone.

Unlike existing granular synthesizers and synth-pad triggers, PLUS Pedal actually runs a constant Hi-Res recording of your instrument, and once engaged, the RealTime sampling algorithm instantly creates a circular micro-loop out of the most recent audio signal produced by you.

Think of it as a smart looper that only catches the last segment of your chosen note or chord, and uses it to create a continuous sound.

The resulting layers of sustain can be practically indistinguishable from the original tone of your instrument, and you can further adjust and fine-tune the PLUS Pedal to achieve the exact type of sustain you have imagined.

I have had endless amounts of fun creating what I was calling “instant Fripp”, but this is better, what an amazing ambient tool. I am starting to produce the band Dawes next week and we have already been planning to use the pedal on a few of the tracks, it instantly set the mood I was hoping for with the ambient-style production under a rock band, etc- I can’t thank you enough, hands down my favorite piece of gear in years…
