We've used our original headstock design since we introduced the XB-2 in 1996. We feel it complements our body shape most pleasing.
Hipshot Ultra Light's are used for our tuners. There are several reasons why we feel these are the best; their mixed up aluminum materials allows for a lighter and compact design. This allows for superb balance, tuning stability, long sustain and overall durability. The headstock design coupled with the Hipshot Ultra Light tuners make for a very balance instrument that you feel as soon as you play it. You'll never have any issues with neck dives.

Our necks are given the utmost attention to detail. We start with Maple because of its rigid, crisp and pearly sound qualities. Ebony is hand selected for quality and used for our finger board material. We've designed the next with a slight extra width. This makes it compatible with string spacing between 19mm-20mm. Nut Material choices include dense pure bone or brass. Lastly, to give our basses a unique look, our ring position markers are made out of aluminum. They look great and complement the XB-2 quite nicely. For our XB-2 6-strings we steel reinforce the neck. This extra rigidity strengthens the neck and eliminates any dead spots.
In addition to our original Maple, chosen for its rigidity and crisp and pearly sound, we also have specification available with Purpleheart laminated around the truss rod for each line up. Although this specification will add weight to the neck, you will gain more power in the low end. And for the 5st model without the steel reinforcement on the neck, this can be a way to obtain higher rigidity and stability.
