Wow! A killer SG that combines features from a Standard and a Custom. Made in 2007 as a limited edition, Gibson only made 250 in black and an additional 250 in cherry. Many folks think these were a Guitar of the Week edition but they were actually their own special run. Top notch USA quality. The body is mahogany and features the classic SG bevels and 61 style pickguard. The 24.75 inch scale mahogany neck features a bound rosewood fingerboard with trapezoid inlays. A trio of 57 Classic humbuckers are hooked to a 6 way chicken head switch for a variety of tones. A Stopbar tailpiece, Tuneomatic bridge and Kluson style tuners keep it rock solid. The finish is Gibson's classic Heritage Cherry lacquer and is set off by fancy gold hardware. An incredible looking SG that also happens to be incredibly rare!
This SG plays and sounds great. The neck is a medium shape like the current SG Standards. The frets are virtually untouched, the action is fine and the neck is straight. The pickups deliver a variety of tones. Everything works as it should. This is a nice guitar. Clean, showing some light pick and clearcoat scratches. A good looking guitar. Comes in original hardshell case.
