okai Talbo (Tokai Aluminium Body) guitars were introduced in 1980 and feature a solid aluminium body with a chamber underneath the pickguard. These were known for having a crystal clear clean tone that resonates beautifully both acoustically and plugged-in. This is a higher end A168 model in an electric blue finish all over (super uncommon colour). Rosewood board and a maple neck, loaded with a 5-way selector, a Wilkinson tremolo system and a pair of single coils plus a bridge humbucker, weighs 4kg's.
If you're Australian (and old..), you'll likely recognise these from their use with INXS. Nile Rodgers is rumoured to have put Tim Farriss onto Tokai’s Talbo Blazing Fire. Tim went on to use the Talbo for decades:
